After her 16 years as the lead singer of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, LaBelle made the decision to go solo and had several number one hits including ‘If Only You Knew’ and ‘On My Own’, a duet with Michael McDonald. Tremendous critical success followed from Grammy Award winning albums, making her one of the icons of soul music the world over.
