Yeti Love want to take you down their ‘Lonely Road’ with new single

Booze?

Beer!

The pair have labelled their unique combination as ‘alt-rogue-folk-rock’, which is as fitting a description as any. Based in South London, they have been playing together since 2012 and ‘Lonely Road’ is the latest fruit of their labours.

In the years since their foundation, Yeti Love have been slowly building in following an momentum thanks to their thoughtful songwriting and eye catching live show, which has earned them some great online press for their work up until this point. The buzz is building, and in ‘Lonely Road’ they have the right vehicle to continue on that journey.

Named thanks to enduring love/fear of the vaunted mythical creature, Yeti Love is the musical moniker of songwriters Peter Hamilton and Dave Sears – a folk duo who view the genre as this generation’s punk music, able to articulate about issues and press all the right buttons in all the wrong places.

Hamilton is also influenced by his own ancestry, being half Spanish and, at a young age, falling in love with the folk traditions of home town Galicia. Having started out as a drummer before expanding his own musical horizons, his love of rhythm was informed by this specific branch of celtic roots music. Married to Sears’ intricate, multi-instrumental approach, the result is a hybrid sound unlike any other act on the circuit today.

Strange Fiction launches ‘Tease Her’ as first single from new album

Single precedes official release of new album ‘Orange’

A Barcelona based band who all grew up in households surrounded by music, it’s little wonder that the four members of Strange Fiction ended up writing and recording their own music. With varied musical backgrounds, their new album ‘Orange’ is a heady blend of genres, particularly rock, indie and pop, with influences as diverse as Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Michael Jackson and Tracy Chapman. The track is an unusual mix, but one that comes into the neat pop groove and vocal of lead single ‘Tease Her’ which gives way to a huge rocking chorus. The track – written about a misunderstanding over a girl at a party which may or may not have resulted in a band member being soaked by beer – is a stellar introduction to the raw sound of the band.

Engineered and recorded in Spain by Tomàs Robisco and mastered in London by Andy “Hippy” Baldwin from Metropolis Studios respectively, the album is a triumph, capturing perfectly the edge that the band works to bring to their live sound.

The songs are specially designed to play well live as well as in the recordings, and if you like what you’re hearing above then keep an eye on the band’s social media – they’ll soon be releasing live, acoustic videos of their songs so music fans all around the world will be able to see the quality of this young band for themselves.

‘Tease Her’ is due for release May 18th with the album to follow on June 1st.

THE WINDMILLS PROJECT – DEATH DISCO EP (STATION K RECORDS)

Booze?

TWP (DEATH DISCO) Front Cover

Beer!

Coming Soon on limited edition 10” vinyl only, The Death Disco EP represents the first of 3 x 10” vinyl only Chapters comprising the debut album to be released by The Windmills Project  – a rock opera influenced but not contained by the classics of the genre (Tommy, Quadrophenia) and Nic Roeg’s celluloid masterpiece “The Man Who Fell To Earth.”

There is no Bowie or Sting, no Elton, but a young sorceress lands on Earth nonetheless to document a small world obsessed with, and about to be consumed by, sex, propaganda, powerlust, religious war & social carnage. Is she an archangel of redemption or the darkangel sent to cast the planet down in misery? There’s the rub.
The Death Disco EP is now available to be watched and stripped at YouTube via the Station K channel. Rip it up.

Belle Roscoe – “Gun To My Head”

Booze? Corona.

“Gun To My Head” is the lead single from Belle Roscoe’s second album, “Boom Boom”. out April 20th. It’s a combination, underpinned by flawless sibling vocal harmonies, that tightly fixes their ambition to marry the modern with the classic; an ambition which is more than met with this new album.

Born and raised in Australia, sibling duo Belle Roscoe combine contemporary sounds and production with classic retro song writing styles. They have been described as ‘a cross between Arcade Fire & Fleetwood Mac’ but in truth this description does them a disservice. In their varied, melodic music, you can hear many influences, including the eclectic likes of Neil Young, Bowie, Springsteen, Elbow and Fleet Foxes.

Cina_01The new album was written in Paris (recorded between Belgium, Malta and Paris) and is heavily influenced by the joys and hardships of living and writing so far from home – as summed up perfectly on album track ‘Paris II’, itself a follow up to ‘Paris’ from their self-titled debut album. Life in the creative, romantic French capital tended to blend moments of beauty with those of struggle, mostly in financial matters and in dealing with music industry types. Still, the pair clung on to their lives in the city and drew from it a rich vein of song writing inspirations.

Now back in Melbourne, the exciting but humbling experience has resulted in a new maturity to their music, and a new perspective on life in general. The new album ‘Boom Boom’ is produced by Luuk Cox (Shameboy, Girls in Hawaii, Stromae & MLCD), and the time will soon be right to share it with the wider world.

Over the years Belle Roscoe have either supported or played alongside many major Australian artists including Jet, Cat Empire, Husky, Wolf Mother, James Reyne, Killing Heidi and more, as well playing countless festivals and sold out shows in both Europe and Australia. Hard working and genuine in their love of the art, Belle Roscoe are set to make 2015 a breakthrough year.

And, if you’re in any doubt as to their pedigree, they even have a live appearance on TV soap Neighbours to their name. How many up and coming bands can say that?
